Temple Healing

An ancient territory of healing

Temple Healing works at the meeting place of body, consciousness, sound, prayer and the Unseen.

It may involve sacred sound and voice, ancient prayer codes, somatic memory, interdimensional healing, and experiences or memories that appear to arise from beyond the boundaries of this lifetime.

The body is central to the work. Not only the physical body as we ordinarily understand it, but the body as a living field of memory and perception: carrying histories, patterns, relationships and resonances that may not always have an obvious origin within our present story.

Temple Healing meets these deeper states.

Why Temple Healing?

The name is not metaphorical.

Across cultures and across time, healing of this nature was often undertaken within temples: places specifically held for communion between the human, the Earth and dimensions of existence beyond ordinary perception.

Some of these temples were built.

Others were already here.

Caves. Springs. Mountains. Stones. Forests. Places where the architecture of the Earth itself created the conditions for encounter.

Temple Healing belongs to this older understanding of healing: one in which the body, consciousness, sound, prayer, the living Earth and the Unseen were not separated into different disciplines.

Sacred Sound and Ancient Prayer

Sound is one of the oldest technologies of the temple.

Within Temple Healing, sound is not used simply to create atmosphere, relaxation or even emotional release. We work with sound as something formative: vibration as an organising intelligence, capable of meeting the body and subtle field beneath the level of ordinary language.

The body itself can be understood as a living instrument, responsive to rhythm, resonance, pattern and pulse.

And the voice is more than a means of expression.

It can become a key.

Through tone, sacred sound and prayer, we listen for the frequencies through which something may re-tune, reorganise or remember its deeper pattern. At times sound works directly with the physical and somatic body; at others it opens into ancestral, interdimensional or beyond-this-lifetime territories.

Certain sounds, tones, words or prayers may arise spontaneously within the healing field. Some are intimately personal. Others arrive with the quality of something ancient: patterns of sound or prayer that carry their own particular intelligence, geometry or remembrance.

We sometimes call these ancient prayer codes.

They are not prescribed, performed or imposed upon the person receiving.

They are listened for.

Beyond the Story of One Lifetime

Not everything we carry began with us.

Behind us move the ancestral rivers: those whose blood, memory, prayers, wounds and unfinished stories continue to travel through the generations.

But ancestry is not the only lineage we may carry.

There are influences that seem to come from elsewhere: relationships that reach across dimensions, memories without an earthly origin, presences encountered beyond the visible world, and threads of belonging that cannot easily be placed within ordinary ideas of time or incarnation.

Temple Healing enters these older and stranger territories gently. Through the body, sound, prayer and ritual, we listen for what is moving beneath the known story: what belongs to the ancestors, what belongs to the soul, what has travelled with us from elsewhere, and what is asking now to be remembered, restored, integrated or released.

Healing through Sacred Ritual

Some Temple Healings take the form of ritual.

Ritual brings us into relationship with ourselves, the elements, the plants, the animals, and the movements of the Sun, Moon and Stars.

The healing is no longer held by the human world alone, but within a larger field of relationship between body, earth and cosmos.

You may be bathed in water, moonlight, sound and prayer, anointed, wrapped, held in silence or surrounded by particular sounds and sacred codes as they arise.

Wind may become part of the prayer. Flowers may become part of the medicine. The voice may carry what words alone cannot.

These are not predetermined ceremonies performed identically for each person.

The ritual emerges in relationship with you.

At times it may be extraordinarily simple: a single sound, a bowl of water, a prayer spoken over the body. At others, an entire ceremonial landscape unfolds around the person receiving.

Within a Temple Healing, there are times when a song arises that belongs specifically to the person receiving.

We call this your soul song.

It is not composed beforehand, nor created as a performance. It is listened for and received within the healing field, then sung to you as part of the ritual.

The song may carry tone, language, prayer or sounds for which there are no ordinary words. It may meet something deeply embodied and personal, or seem to speak to a part of you that exists beyond the story of this lifetime.

You do not need to understand the song for the body to encounter it.

Sometimes recognition happens somewhere older than language.

Temple Healing remembers ritual not as performance, but as an ancient language of healing: a way of bringing body, spirit, Earth, beauty and the Unseen into relationship.

For some things are not asking to be explained.

They are asking to be sung.

To be washed.

To be witnessed.

To be remembered.

Ways to Enter the Temple

Temple Healing can be encountered in different ways: as a personal healing journey, as a practice you are called to learn, or from wherever you are in the world.

Temple Healing Immersions

Come to Peru and enter the work deeply.

There is a dimension of Temple Healing that can only be encountered by coming here.

In Peru, we are able to work not only within the temple of the body, but within an extraordinary landscape of ancient and living temple grids that have been tended, approached and listened to across time.

The immersion is not simply a series of healing sessions with Peru as the backdrop.

The land is part of the work.

We journey into temple spaces and work directly in relationship with place. We listen. We sound. We pray. We encounter the particular intelligence and resonance of different sites, allowing the healing journey to unfold between your own living architecture and the larger architecture of the land.

A Temple Healing might begin on the body and lead us to a particular place.

A sound, image or prayer arising in ceremony may find its counterpart in stone.

Something encountered at a temple may continue unfolding through dreams, somatic memory, sound or ritual in the days that follow.

The immersion allows those threads to speak to one another.

This is why the work here is not confined to a treatment room.

We may work with sacred sound and ancient prayer codes within the temples themselves. We may work with water, stone, flowers and ritual. We may listen into ancestral or beyond-this-life memory, or into experiences that seem to belong to a much larger field of relationship between person, place and time.

And because we have more than a single session together, we can follow what emerges.

Temple to body

Body to land

Sound to stone

Stone to memory

Memory back into the living body.

You are not coming to Peru simply to receive Temple Healing.

You are coming to enter a living temple landscape and allow yourself to be met by it.

Temple Healing immersions are individually woven journeys of healing, ritual and remembrance, held within the extraordinary landscape of the Sacred Valley.

An immersion may unfold through individual Temple Healing sessions, sacred sound and prayer, soul song, elemental ceremonies, work with the body and its deeper memories, and encounters with ancient and naturally occurring temple spaces.

There is no fixed sequence of treatments or ceremonies. Each immersion is created in relationship with the person who comes and with what reveals itself through the work.

Some things require time.

An immersion gives us that time: to enter, listen, follow what emerges, and allow a healing process to unfold beyond the confines of a single session.

Temple Healing Training

For those called to learn this way of working.

Temple Healing cannot be reduced to a set of techniques. The training is therefore as much an education in listening, perception and relationship as it is an exploration of particular practices.

****We work with the body as a field of memory; sacred sound and the voice; prayer and ritual; ancestral and beyond-this-life influences; interdimensional perception; the intelligence of place; and the discernment required when working within these territories.****

THERE IS NO SINGLE PATHWAY THROUGH THE TRAINING.

How it unfolds, how long it takes, and where we place our focus depend very much upon the person entering the work.

Someone who already has many years of experience in a healing modality will arrive with a different foundation from someone encountering healing work for the first time. Your existing skills, life experience and ways of perceiving are taken into account, alongside the areas in which you need greater grounding, development or experience.

For one person, the work may need to begin deeply in the body and the cultivation of somatic listening. For another, the doorway may be sound, ritual or subtle perception. Someone already experienced in bodywork may need very little teaching around touch, but considerable exploration of prayer, voice or interdimensional work.

The intention is not to make every practitioner work in the same way.

It is to give you the foundations, experience and discernment from which your own relationship with Temple Healing can emerge.

The training is deeply experiential. You will both give and receive the work, learning not to reproduce somebody else´s healing language, but to recognise and develop your own capacity to listen.

Where possible, training also takes place in relationship with temple spaces themselves, including the ancient and naturally occurring temples of Peru.

Temple Healing at a Distance

You do not have to come to Peru to enter the work.

Temple Healing can also take place at a distance, with sessions held online through Zoom.

Distance work may move through many of the same territories as an in-person healing: the somatic and subtle body, ancestral influences, experiences beyond this lifetime, sound, prayer, imagery, memory and interdimensional perception.

You will usually be somewhere comfortable and private, at times sitting and at times lying down.

The physical distance between us does not need to determine the depth of the encounter.

For those who feel drawn to Temple Healing but cannot travel to Peru, this can be a beautiful place to begin.
