Craniosacral Therapy

What is Craniosacral Therapy?

Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle form of bodywork that listens to the body rather than imposing change upon it.

Although its name refers to the cranium and sacrum, the work involves the whole body. Fascia, bones, membranes, fluids, organs and the nervous system exist in continuous relationship, and a pattern held in one part of the body may be expressed somewhere quite different.

At the heart of Craniosacral Therapy are two particularly distinctive ways of listening -

The Tides

Craniosacral Therapists learn to perceive three subtle rhythmic movements, or tides, expressed through the body: the Cranial Rhythmic Impulse, the Mid-Tide and the Long Tide. These rhythms move at different rates and can be perceived through the tissues and fluids of the body, as well as through a person’s electromagnetic field. Listening to them reveals the underlying health of a person’s system, and gives the practitioner a way of orienting to one’s whole being, rather than simply working upon the place where a symptom appears.

The Inherent Treatment Process

We work directly with what is called the inherent treatment process: the extraordinary way in which the body can reveal and resolve a pattern when it is given sufficient space to complete what it is already attempting to do.

Rather than immediately trying to correct a restriction, we allow the pattern to be fully perceived. As it is observed, it may become more pronounced or magnified, gradually reaching its fullest expression. It then comes to a point of stillness.

From that stillness, something changes.

The system releases and reorganises, returning either to a reduced expression of the original pattern or, sometimes, to its complete absence.

The practitioner does not determine what the body should do. We follow the process that emerges from within the body itself.

What does a session feel like?

Sessions usually take place fully clothed, lying comfortably on a treatment table. Touch is gentle and often very still. Through this subtle contact, the practitioner listens to patterns of movement, tension and restriction within the tissues, fluids and nervous system and follows the processes that emerge.

The work can be remarkably quiet while reaching very deep layers of physical and emotional experience.

Perhaps more surprisingly, Craniosacral Therapy can also be offered at a distance. The same quality of listening and therapeutic attention can be brought to someone who is not physically present, and distance sessions can be particularly valuable for those who cannot travel, are unwell, or simply wish to receive the work from their own home.

At its heart, Craniosacral Therapy is an act of listening: meeting the body with enough attention and space that it can begin to reveal its patterns, move through them, and discover what lies beyond them.

Your Practitioner

Miranda Robinson is a trained Craniosacral Therapist and previously taught Craniosacral Therapy in London, UK. She now practises and teaches through The House of Remembering, offering individual work alongside advanced practitioner immersions and Craniosacral training in Peru.

Her work is deeply rooted in the foundations of Craniosacral Therapy: the three tides, the Inherent Treatment Process, and the relationships between the dural membranes, fluids, fascia and nervous system.

She has a particular interest in chronic disease, birth and early developmental patterns, trauma, and the relationship between physical structure and subtler levels of human experience.

Her approach is both precise and intuitive. Anatomy matters. So do the movements that cannot necessarily be understood through anatomy alone.

Rather than approaching the body as a collection of problems to be corrected, Miranda listens for the relationships between patterns: how they organise themselves, what they may be expressing, and what happens when the system is given sufficient space to complete its own process.

Today, her teaching carries Craniosacral Therapy beyond the treatment room, exploring not only its clinical and anatomical foundations, but the deeper perceptual capacities that arise through sustained listening to the human system.

What We Offer

Craniosacral Therapy Sessions

In-person and distant treatment for individuals seeking support

Whether you are seeking support for pain, injury, trauma, chronic illness, stress, or simply wish to reconnect with your body's innate wisdom, sessions are tailored to your unique needs.

Treatments are available in person in the Sacred Valley in Peru, and at a distance, with options for adults, children and babies.

Advanced Practitioner Immersions

Deepening the practice of experienced therapists

These bespoke immersions offer experienced practitioners dedicated time to deepen their clinical skills, perceptual awareness and therapeutic presence.

Rather than following a fixed curriculum, immersions are built around your interests and clinical questions.

Topics often include:

Developing the practitioner’s instrument

Fascial relationships

Birth imprints

Embryology

The influence of the light body on the physical body

Fluid dynamics

Clinical reasoning

These immersions are residential and held in the loving embrace of the Sacred Valley in Peru

Learning Craniosacral Therapy

For those wishing to study this gentle and profound approach

This immersive, residential programme offers a deep exploration of Craniosacral Therapy through extensive practical experience, guided study and personal transformation.

Students learn anatomy, the language of the fascia, fluid dynamics, nervous system regulation, and the art of therapeutic presence.

Equal emphasis is placed on developing perceptual skills, clinical understanding and embodied practice.

The programme is experiential, intensive and highly personalised, allowing each student to develop at a pace that honours both depth and integration.

Held in the Sacred Valley in Peru
